New Device Reduces Need for Blood Thinners
Palomar Health is offering a new, life-changing procedure for people who experience irregular rhythms and/or are taking blood thinners. Atrial fibrillation often manifests itself with a rapid heart beat (arrhythmia), which can lead to blood clots in the heart, increasing a person’s risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart complications.
Congenital Heart Disease Screening
In recognition of American Heart Month (February), Palomar Health’s Birth Centers in Escondido and Poway would like everyone to know every newborn receives a congenital heart disease screening before he/she leaves the hospital as an early intervention/prevention measure.
