San Diego’s largest healthcare district, Palomar Health is proud to announce its newest appointed board member, Michael Pacheco of Valley Center. Pacheco was appointed for a one-year term on Monday, December 13 after being voted in by the entire board to serve the Palomar Health District encompassing 800 square miles with more than 500,000 residents.

The Villas at Poway has earned the “Best Nursing Homes” designation for short-term rehabilitation from U.S. News & World Report for the third year in a row. U.S. News rated more than 15,000 skilled nursing homes throughout the country and gave the designation only to those homes meeting criteria it has determined most greatly impact patient and resident care, safety and outcomes.

Palomar Health is partnering with Kara Health to expand its continuum of care, further allowing patients to receive world-class healthcare in their own community and home through a new joint venture – Palomar Health Palliative & Hospice Care.

Last week the Medical Surgical Units at Palomar Medical Center Poway received 12 new beds, and two new ICU beds are coming soon. Palomar Health invested almost $160,000 for the 14 pieces to replace the aged beds at Poway, allowing for a better patient experience.

Palomar Health has proclaimed victory in a lawsuit filed against them by the corporation styling itself “Citizens to Save Palomar Health.” The baseless lawsuit lacked facts, merit and was blatantly and obviously a smear campaign.
