Duties:

• Handling and processing of biohazard blood products and patient samples (in closed containers)
• General equipment and phlebotomy cart cleaning and simple preventative maintenance tasks
• Clerical Tasks – organizing of patient requisitions and paperwork
• Operate copier and scanning machine for lab requisitions
• Assist with checking in and labeling of reagents and supplies
• Restocking of Central Processing and phlebotomy supplies
• Assisting with sending and retrieval of laboratory samples from the pneumatic tube stations
• Preparing blood collection set before phlebotomy staff collects patient sample
• Transport and delivery of lab samples from ordering location to lab testing area

Qualifications:

• Need to be mature and self-starters
• Focus and attention to detail
• Preferred to have CPT License (phlebotomy license)
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Flexible, good stamina and possess good interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Listen well and follow specific directions
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Use and maintain personal protective equipment

Assignments: (All shifts may not be available)

Sunday-Saturday: 6am–10am, 4pm-8pm
