Patients who receive care at the Rehabilitation Institute tend to find their experience fulfilling and effective. When a patient is discharged from the hospital, they are sent a survey by an independent research firm, Press Ganey. The survey asks them about their experience with Palomar UC San Diego Health, including the therapy they receive, the food they eat, the cleanliness of the units and the courtesy of the employees.

We know that getting back to your life is your number one goal when receiving inpatient rehabilitation. For most, this means getting out of the hospital and going back to your home and family. At Palomar UC San Diego Health, our therapists, nurses and physicians work hard to help you achieve that goal.

Patients are closely monitored on their progress using a Functional Independence Measure (FIM). The higher the score, the better the patient’s function. Our scores are consistently higher than the national average.
