The California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) has awarded the Poway Birth Center with two Quality and Engagement Awards. The Birth Center was one of only 18 hospitals to receive the “Super Star Award” in the small birth volume category for exhibiting high levels of engagement in the Maternal Data Center. The Birth Center also received the “Early Implementer Award” for expanded breastfeeding measures. The awards were given to hospitals demonstrating a commitment to driving and sustaining perinatal quality.
The CMQCC is a multi-stakeholder organization committed to ending preventable morbidity, mortality and racial disparities in California maternity care. Founded at Stanford University School of Medicine in 2006, CMQCC is recognized as a national leader in innovative approaches to perinatal quality improvement.
