Palomar UC San Diego Health Poway receives “A” grade from Leapfrog and Palomar UC San Diego Health Escondido named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021
Palomar UC San Diego Health’s two medical centers are being recognized for delivering high-quality medical care from separate national organizations. Palomar UC San Diego Health Poway received an “A” grade from the Leapfrog Group for protecting patient safety and Palomar UC San Diego Health Escondido was named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list.
The Leapfrog Group tracks 27 performance measures collected by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and assigns performance grades twice annually. The grades are designed to reflect the level of patient safety provided at more than 2,600 general acute-care hospitals across the nation. Palomar UC San Diego Health Poway was one of just 34% to receive an “A” grade.
Newsweek partners with the global data research firm Statista Inc., to rate more than 2,000 hospitals across 25 countries by examining recommendations from medical experts, results from patient surveys and medical key performance indicators. Newsweek ranked Palomar UC San Diego Health Escondido in the top 140 in the United States and top 20 in California.
