October is Physical Therapy Month!

October is Physical Therapy Month!

Across the district, we have 86 amazing physical therapists who work in the settings of Inpatient, Skilled Nursing, Healthy Development Services and Outpatient Rehabilitation.

The goal of physical therapy (PT) is to improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain and prevent further injury by using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretches, manual techniques, modalities, functional activities and patient/caregiver education.

There are many different specialty areas in physical therapy including orthopedics, neurology, ergonomics, pelvic floor, geriatrics and sports medicine.

Please feel free to show your gratitude to our extraordinary physical therapists below!

  4. Our physical therapy team (PTs, PTAs, and aides) are some of the best and brightest in Southern California! Each time I walk through our sites (inpatient, skilled nursing, acute rehab and outpatient) their smiles and words of encouragement for our patients and families truly make me feel proud of the service they offer our communities. Palomar is one of those rare work places where clinicians can come and stay for their entire career as we have team members who have started with us as aides, gone to school and come back as clinicians. Thank you for all you do!

  6. Venka Arasu works with the patients on the subacute unit at The Villas with humor, grace, caring and professionalism. Not every therapist is a good match for our challenging and severely compromised population, but Venka has dedicated herself to the well being and improvement of many patients here. We are so grateful to have a lead therapist who works so diligently–receiving patients in a coma, and then helping them walk out the front door of the facility.
We, the patients, and the family members appreciate her and the other therapy staff who work with our patients here.
    Thank you so much

  7. From Nursing…I want to thank you all for all your care, patience, and expertise in what you do in a variety of settings and diversity of patients. We know the value and hard work that it takes to be the professionals, and the human touch it takes to do what you do. Please know that we love and appreciate all the things that it takes to endure the job; underpaid, overeducated…and underappreciated at times. You are definitely an essential part of the care team, and the reason for the outcomes of the patients.
