Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) evaluate and treat individuals of all ages facing disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing.
At Palomar UC San Diego Health, we work with adults with conditions such as strokes, brain injuries, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, head and neck cancer and aspiration pneumonia. We collaborate with trauma/critical care teams to facilitate speech and swallowing for patients on ventilators and tracheostomies. We also partner with Registered Dietitians to ensure safe nutrition for our patients. Further along the rehab process, we address memory and problem-solving issues.
At the heart of this extraordinary care is our team of 23 skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologists who work across our continuum of care.
