The Palomar UC San Diego Health Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is now located in Escondido to serve patients in North San Diego County.
Patients with wounds that have not shown any signs of improvement within four weeks of wound care treatment, or those with wounds that have failed to heal within eight weeks of treatment, are likely candidates for the program.
Patients may self-refer, however if they belong to an HMO they will need a doctor’s referral. When a patient is referred to the center by a physician, that patient will remain in the care of the physician. The patient will meet with a physician and clinical staff for a consultation. Consultation may include an examination and medical history evaluation. A wound treatment plan will be established by the wound care team and communicated to the referring/primary physician. The referring or primary care physician will receive periodic updates regarding the patient’s progress, along with updated photos of the wound, on an ongoing basis.
We look forward to serving you. Please contact a member of our staff with any other questions you may have regarding your therapy.
