Become a part of Palomar UC San Diego Health Pet Therapy! Man’s best friends (and their owners) are needed to provide therapy to our Palomar UC San Diego Health patients. If you and your dog are looking for a meaningful way to volunteer together in the community, please consider how you can make a difference in the lives of patients and their families through the Palomar UC San Diego Health Pet Therapy program. Patients enjoy the comfort, joy and stress relief a therapy dog brings to brighten their day!
Be a part of a very rewarding opportunity:
- Your dog must be well socialized, calm and at least one year old.
- Being certified from a nationally recognized pet therapy organization is a plus
(Love on a Leash certification recommended). - Participant/dog handler must be over 18 years of age and be able to stand/walk comfortably for up to two hours.
- Participant must be comfortable in a hospital setting and be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Some training provided.
