Infusion Center/MOB Lobby Ambassador

Duties:

  • Provide kind, friendly, comforting services to patients and families receiving treatment and assist staff working in the Infusion Center, including Radiation Oncology and Perinatal services.
  • Present a caring and professional attitude to everyone including physicians, nursing staff, patients and family members, and anyone who comes to you for assistance.
  • Help others in ways that give them a positive feeling about themselves and Palomar UC San Diego Health. This may include: assistance with locating physician offices, offering a wheelchair, providing a patient with comfort items (e.g. snacks, water, beverages, blankets, additional pillows).
  • Prepare and serve beverages, snacks and entertainment items using hygienic techniques.
  • Stock and clean the refreshment center at the end of each shift.
  • Willingly accept changes to the job requirements and responsibilities as the units expand services. Cross train as Lobby Ambassadors and assist as time permits.
  • Greet patients, visitors and vendors as they enter the building and help direct as needed.
  • Escort individuals to their destination as required.
  • Locate wheelchairs for the lobby as needed.
  • Oversee waiting area including rounding on patients and family members.
  • Radiation Oncology – Visit patients and family members in waiting areas and offer snack items, puzzle books.
  • Infusion Center – Assist with appointment reminder phone calls, sanitizing treatment chairs. Offer snacks, beverages, puzzle books, warm blankets, pillows.
  • Perinatal – Assist with appointment reminder phone calls, visit patients and families in the waiting area and treatment rooms. Offer baby caps, personal items (e.g. lotions, nail files, puzzle books, etc.)

 

Requirements:

  • Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Possess the maturity, responsibility and interpersonal skills to interact cordially with patients, staff, volunteers and other customers.
  • Possess problem solving skills for their assigned area of responsibility and be able to handle stressful situations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

 

Assignments: 

(All shifts may not be available)

  • Monday-Friday: 9am-12pm, 12:30pm-3:30pm
