Spiritual Care

Spiritual Care

Palomar UC San Diego Health understands that spiritual care can be an important part of the healing process. In moments of uncertainty, illness or loss, having space for reflection, conversation and connection can provide comfort and clarity.

Our Spiritual Care team is here to support people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. Our chaplains offer a compassionate presence through listening, meaningful conversations and guidance during difficult moments. Whether you are facing a serious diagnosis, navigating end-of-life decisions or processing the loss of a loved one, we are here to walk alongside you and remind you that you are not alone. For additional resources, click here.

Are there dedicated spaces for prayer in the hospitals?

Yes. Both Palomar UC San Diego Health Escondido and Poway have dedicated spaces for prayer on the second floor.

These quiet spaces are available to patients, families and team members as a place for prayer, meditation, reflection or simply a moment of calm.

How do I request a chaplain to visit me?

Our chaplains support people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. Please let us know what’s important to you so that we can meet your needs

What if I want my own spiritual leader to visit?

The Spiritual Care team can help coordinate visits with your personal spiritual leader. If your clergy member is unable to visit right away, our team remains available to provide support in the meantime.

At Palomar UC San Diego Health, we recognize that emotional and spiritual wellbeing are just as important as physical health. Our commitment is to provide compassionate care that supports you and your loved ones through every stage of your journey.

When you feel ready to take the next step, we invite you to explore our Bereavement Support Services, which offers additional resources and guidance for individuals and families coping with loss.
