Don Myers joined Palomar’s Center for Behavioral Health in August of 2017. Prior to joining Palomar UC San Diego Health, he held a variety of leadership positions of multiple departments in hospital operations in Colorado and California. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in all facets of behavioral health operations. Don received a Master of Social Work in 1990 and his Master of Business Administration in 2004. He is a strong advocate for Wellness & Recovery and Stigma Reduction in support of improvement in quality of life. Don is actively involved in local and state activities to increase awareness and promote health in the community.

Darrell Oppermann, BSN, MSHS, RN, PMHN-BC
Nurse Manager of Crisis Stabilization Unit & Behavioral Health Consultation Services
Darrell joined Palomar UC San Diego Health in 2006 and has served in various roles in the Behavioral Health Department. He has more than 17 years experience caring for the mentally ill population and is Board Certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. He is currently responsible for managing the Inpatient Gero-Psychiatric Unit and the Adult Behavioral Health Unit, both located in Poway.

Sarah joined the Behavioral Team at Palomar UC San Diego Health in 2022. She is an accomplished healthcare management professional with over 10 years of experience in various lines within healthcare. With a strong background in both healthcare operations and business strategy, Sarah has developed expertise in optimizing healthcare services, managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational growth while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards. Skilled in data analytics, financial management and regulatory compliance, she is adept at identifying areas for improvement and leading initiatives to enhance overall healthcare delivery.
