Free Lung Cancer Screening
Description:
Free Lung Cancer Screenings with Low-Dose Computed Tomography (LTDC) for eligible members who have undergone a counseling and shared decision-making visit that fulfills the following criteria:
- Assessment of member eligibility.
- Shared decision-making, which may involve the utilization of one or more decision aids.
- Counseling on the significance of adhering to annual lung cancer LDCT screening, considering the impact of any comorbidities and evaluating their willingness and ability to undergo diagnosis and treatment.
- Counseling on the importance of maintaining cigarette smoking abstinence for former smokers or the significance of smoking cessation for current smokers. Additionally, if applicable, information about tobacco cessation interventions may be provided.
Member Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: 50–77 years
- Current smoker or one who has quit smoking within the last 15 years
- Receive an order for lung cancer screening with LDCT
- Asymptomatic (no signs or symptoms of lung cancer)
- Tobacco smoking history of at least 20 pack-years (Ex. 1 pack/day for 20 years, 2 packs/day for 10 years, etc.)
